**Quick answer:** event photography costs $150 to $375 an hour in 2026 on the public price lists we read, with a two-hour minimum on most. A half day runs from $500 to $2,000 and a full day from $900 to $3,500. Rush delivery, a second photographer and attendee galleries are usually extra.

Those figures come from seven working event photographers who publish their prices or terms, in markets from Hampton Roads to Washington, D.C. This guide sets their rates side by side, lists what the price includes and what it does not, works through three event budgets, and shows how to get more from the photographer you are already paying for.

- **Hourly:** $150 to $375, usually with a two-hour minimum.
- **Half day (4 hours):** $500 to $2,000. **Full day (8 hours):** $900 to $3,500.
- **Add-ons:** second photographer $120 an hour, rush delivery $300 a day, attendee gallery hosting $500.
- **Turnaround:** 24 hours to 7 business days after the event, unless you pay for same-day selects.
- **The gap:** the price buys the photos. It rarely gets them to attendees while the event is still on.

## How much does event photography cost in 2026?

Most event photographers do not publish prices. These five do, and two more publish their terms. Each row links to the page the figures were read from.

| Photographer and market | 2 hours | Half day (4 h) | Full day (8 h) | Stated turnaround |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Hampton Roads Photography, Virginia](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) | $300 (minimum) | $500 | $900 | Same-day is a paid add-on |
| [Headshots and Corporate, Raleigh](https://headshotsandcorporate.com/event-photography-pricing/) | $500 at $250 an hour | $1,000 at $250 an hour | $2,000 at $250 an hour | 72 hours |
| [Christian Purdie, Las Vegas](https://christianpurdie.com/event-photographer-pricing/) | $700 | $1,300 | $2,500 | Not stated |
| [Jay Grubb, Jacksonville](https://www.jaygrubbphotography.com/jacksonville-event-photographer/) | $750 at $375 an hour (minimum) | $1,500 at $375 an hour | Custom quote | 24 to 48 hours |
| [Josh Edelson, Washington, D.C.](https://edelsonphotography.com/washington-dc-corporate-event-photographer/) | Not listed | From $2,000 | From $3,500 | 3 to 5 business days |
| [Taylor Mickal, Delaware](https://www.taylormickal.com/delaware-event-photographer) | Quote only | Quote only | Quote only | 7 business days or less |
| [Max Photography, Austin](https://maxphotography.com/event-photography-pricing/) | Quote only | Quote only | Quote only | Not stated |

Where a page gives only an hourly rate, the longer bookings in the table are that rate multiplied out. This is seven price pages, not a market survey. It shows the spread you will meet when quotes come in.

### Event photography cost per hour

Four of the seven sell by the hour or publish prices that convert to an hourly figure:

- **$150 an hour** at the two-hour minimum in Hampton Roads, falling to about $113 an hour on a full day.
- **$250 an hour** in Raleigh, including travel within 30 miles and edited images.
- **$350 an hour** for two hours in Las Vegas, falling to about $313 an hour on a full day.
- **$375 an hour** in Jacksonville, with a two-hour minimum.

The pattern is consistent. The hourly rate drops as the booking gets longer, and the shortest booking you can make is two hours.

### Half-day and full-day rates

Half a day is four hours and a full day is eight on the pages that define them. Published half-day prices run from $500 to $2,000 and full-day prices from $900 to $3,500. The Washington, D.C. figures are starting prices, and that photographer bills travel at cost on top.

### How much is a photographer for 3 hours?

Three hours is the length of a typical reception or awards evening. At the published hourly rates it costs $750 at $250 an hour and $1,125 at $375 an hour. On the Las Vegas price list it falls between the two-hour price of $700 and the four-hour price of $1,300, and most photographers will round you up to the half day.

## Does a corporate event cost more than a private one?

Not on the one price list that shows both. Christian Purdie charges $1,300 for four hours and $2,500 for eight whether the booking is a corporate event or a special event. What changes the corporate price is what is added to it: more than one photographer, a headshot station, on-site editing and usage rights for marketing.

For comparison, [Pixster](https://www.pixsterphotobooth.com/pricing), a national photo booth operator, lists an event photographer from $1,200 alongside its booths. Our guide to [hiring a corporate event photographer](https://filterpixel.com/blog/corporate-event-photographer-complete-guide) covers what to look for beyond the rate.

## What is included in the price

The same five items appear on almost every page:

1. **One photographer** for the booked hours.
2. **Edited, high-resolution images.** Jay Grubb specifies no watermarks; Josh Edelson specifies colour-corrected, web- and print-ready files.
3. **A private online gallery** with a download link.
4. **Usage rights.** Edelson lists marketing, PR, social media and internal communications. Taylor Mickal states full usage rights in perpetuity for communications, marketing, press and promotion.
5. **A turnaround time,** counted from the end of the event.

What is missing from that list is anything for the attendees. The gallery goes to the organiser. Getting photos to the people in them is a separate job, and on one price list a separate line.

## The add-ons that change the total

These are the published prices for the extras most corporate events end up needing:

| Add-on | Published price | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Additional photographer | $120 an hour | [Hampton Roads Photography](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) |
| Rush delivery (same-day processing) | $300 a day | [Hampton Roads Photography](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) |
| Daily image highlights for social media | $250 a day, needs WiFi | [Hampton Roads Photography](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) |
| Gallery hosting so attendees can view and download | $500 for three months | [Hampton Roads Photography](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) |
| Group photos | $150 for up to six groups | [Hampton Roads Photography](https://www.hamptonroadsphotography.com/corporate-event-photography) |
| Individual headshots | From $350 | [Jay Grubb](https://www.jaygrubbphotography.com/jacksonville-event-photographer/) |
| Aerial or drone coverage | From $500 | [Josh Edelson](https://edelsonphotography.com/washington-dc-corporate-event-photographer/) |
| Downtown parking and incidentals | $50 a day | [Max Photography](https://maxphotography.com/event-photography-pricing/) |
| Travel | Included within 30 miles, or billed at cost | [Headshots and Corporate](https://headshotsandcorporate.com/event-photography-pricing/), [Josh Edelson](https://edelsonphotography.com/washington-dc-corporate-event-photographer/) |

On that one list, getting photos out the same day and into attendees' hands adds $1,050 to a one-day event: $300 for rush delivery, $250 for daily highlights and $500 for attendee gallery hosting.

## Three event budgets, worked through

These use the published prices above. The low figure is the lowest published rate and the high figure the highest. Add-ons use the Hampton Roads list, because it is the only one that prices them.

| Event | Photographer | Add-ons | Total |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Evening reception, 3 hours, one photographer | $500 to $2,000 (rounded up to a half day) | None | $500 to $2,000 |
| One-day conference, 8 hours, two photographers, same-day photos | $900 to $3,500 | Second photographer 8 h × $120 = $960; rush delivery $300 | $2,160 to $4,760 |
| Three-day conference, one photographer, daily highlights, attendee gallery | $2,700 to $10,500 (three full days) | Highlights 3 × $250 = $750; gallery hosting $500 | $3,950 to $11,750 |

These are illustrations built from public prices, not quotes. A multi-day booking is normally negotiated below three separate day rates, and travel is not included.

## Why quotes for the same event differ so much

### You are paying for hours you do not see

The booked hours are the smallest part of the job. Before the event there is the shot list and the venue walk-through. After it, a full day of conference coverage produces thousands of frames that have to be culled, edited and exported before the gallery is sent. Our guide to [culling a large event](https://filterpixel.com/blog/photo-culling-workflow-for-large-events-8000-images-without-missed-moments) shows what that work involves, and it is the reason turnaround is counted in days.

### The rate is a business, not a wage

The [U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics](https://www.bls.gov/ooh/media-and-communication/photographers.htm) puts the median pay of an employed photographer at $21.47 an hour in May 2025, and reports that 67% of photographers are self-employed. A freelance rate of $250 an hour is not that wage multiplied by twelve. It has to cover equipment, insurance, software, travel and all the unbilled hours around each booking.

### Market and turnaround move the price

The lowest and highest full-day prices in the table are $900 and $3,500. The cheaper photographer charges extra for same-day work. The dearer one includes usage rights for marketing and PR and offers same-day hero images for press deadlines. Compare quotes on what arrives and when, not on the day rate alone.

## When the photos arrive, and who gets them

| Photographer | Standard delivery | Same-day option |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Jay Grubb, Jacksonville | 24 to 48 hours | On request |
| Headshots and Corporate, Raleigh | 72 hours | Not listed |
| Josh Edelson, Washington, D.C. | 3 to 5 business days | Same-day or next-morning hero images |
| Taylor Mickal, Delaware | 7 business days or less | Same-day selects |
| Hampton Roads Photography | Not stated | $300 a day rush, $250 a day highlights |

Every one of those times starts when the event ends, and every delivery goes to the organiser. Attendees post during the event, from their own phones. By the time the professional gallery arrives, the event has left their feed. The [conference photography guide](https://filterpixel.com/blog/conference-photography-complete-guide) covers how delivery expectations have changed. This is the part of the photography budget that buys the least.

## How to get more from the photographer you are already paying

You do not need a different photographer or a bigger day rate. You need the photos to move while the event is on. This is what [FilterPixel Live](https://filterpixel.com/live-event-photo-delivery) adds to a booking:

1. **Your photographer uploads as they shoot.** Nothing changes about how they work.
2. **AI picks the frames.** Closed eyes, blur and near-duplicates are left out, and the keepers get one consistent look. It is the same selection step photographers use [DeepCull](https://filterpixel.com/deepcull) for in [same-day delivery](https://filterpixel.com/blog/same-day-photo-delivery-workflow).
3. **Each attendee finds their own photos.** They scan a QR code on a screen or badge and take one selfie in the phone's browser. There is no app, and no email address or phone number is asked for.
4. **Every photo carries your brand.** The event or sponsor frame is on each one, ready to share on LinkedIn while the session is still running.

| | Standard delivery | Rush add-on | Live delivery |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| When photos arrive | 24 hours to 7 business days after | Same day or next morning | Minutes after they are taken |
| Who receives them | The organiser | The organiser's social team | Every attendee who opts in, and the organiser |
| How an attendee finds theirs | Scrolls a shared gallery, if it is shared | They do not | One selfie |
| Sponsor branding | Added later, if at all | Added by your team | On every photo automatically |
| What you pay | Included in the day rate | About $300 a day where published | Software priced per event, by attendance |

> "One of the biggest pain points in organizing any event is sharing the pictures. By the time you do, the social moment is gone. People get their photos right there, and they share them right away."

## Event photographer or photo booth?

They are different lines in the budget and they do different jobs. A corporate photo booth rental has a median price of $899 in [Check Cherry's 2026 data](https://www.checkcherry.com/articles/235-how-much-does-a-photo-booth-rental-cost-a-2026-pricing-guide), and it photographs the people who queue at it. A photographer covers the whole event. If the booth is there so attendees leave with a branded photo of themselves, the photographer's photos can do that instead. The full comparison is in our [photo booth rental cost guide](https://filterpixel.com/blog/photo-booth-rental-cost).

## Eight questions to ask before you sign

1. What is the minimum booking, and what does an extra hour cost on the day?
2. How many edited photos should we expect from a day like ours?
3. When does the full gallery arrive, in hours or business days?
4. Can we have a set of selects the same day, and what does that cost?
5. Which usage rights are included: social media, press, paid advertising?
6. Is travel, parking or a second photographer in the quote or added to it?
7. How do attendees and speakers get their own photos, and when?
8. Will you upload during the event if we provide the connection?

Questions 7 and 8 are the ones most quotes leave unanswered. Ask them before you compare prices.

## If you are the photographer

The same numbers tell you where the market is. Published rates cluster between $250 and $375 an hour with a two-hour minimum, and same-day delivery is the add-on clients pay for. Faster delivery is how you move up that range without adding shooting hours. Start with [how event photographers land recurring corporate clients](https://filterpixel.com/blog/event-photographers-land-corporate-clients), the [event photography workflow](https://filterpixel.com/event-photography-workflow) and [editing on a deadline](https://filterpixel.com/blog/editing-tips-deadline-event-photographers).

On consent for face matching: under [Article 9 of the GDPR](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-9-gdpr/), biometric data used to identify a person is special-category data. FilterPixel asks each adult attendee before any selfie and uses it only to find that attendee's photos.

## Frequently asked questions

### How much does event photography cost in 2026?

On the public price pages we read, hourly bookings run from $150 to $375 an hour, a half day from $500 to $2,000, and a full day from $900 to $3,500. Where a photographer sits in that range depends on the market, the turnaround and the usage rights included.

### How much should I pay a photographer for 3 hours?

At the published hourly rates, three hours costs $750 at $250 an hour and $1,125 at $375 an hour. Photographers who sell by the block price a three-hour job between their two-hour and four-hour rates, which is $700 to $1,300 on one Las Vegas price list.

### How much would a 2 hour event shoot cost?

Between $300 and $750 on the price pages we read. Two hours is the usual minimum booking: one photographer lists two hours at $300, one at $700, and one charges $375 an hour with a two-hour minimum.

### How much do corporate event photographers charge for a full day?

Published full-day rates run from $900 in Hampton Roads to $2,500 in Las Vegas and from $3,500 in Washington, D.C. Multi-day conferences are usually quoted individually.

### What does rush or same-day delivery cost?

It is usually an add-on. One photographer lists rush delivery at $300 a day and a daily set of highlights for social media at $250 a day. Others offer same-day selects on request without a published price.

### How long does it take to get event photos back?

Standard turnaround on these pages ranges from 24 to 48 hours, through 72 hours and 3 to 5 business days, to 7 business days. That is after the event, which is why same-day selects are sold separately.

### How much does a second photographer cost?

One price list puts an additional photographer at $120 an hour. Most photographers quote a second shooter case by case.

### Do we own the photos after a corporate event?

You normally get usage rights, not ownership. Several photographers state that the price includes commercial usage rights for marketing, PR, social media and internal communications. Check the wording in your contract.

### Can attendees get their photos during the event?

Yes. With FilterPixel Live your photographer uploads as they shoot, the best frames are selected and branded, and each attendee opens their own photos by scanning a QR code and taking a selfie. It works with the photographer you already hired.

## Pay for the photos once. Use them while it counts.

Event photography cost is $150 to $375 an hour and $900 to $3,500 a day on the price lists that are public. The bigger question is what the money delivers and when. A gallery that arrives next week serves the annual report. Photos on attendees' phones during the keynote serve the event.
