It is worth taking seriously: it is genuinely free, requires no account, and it gets the hardest part of sports culling right. This is an honest look at what it does, what its own site does not tell you, and where a high-volume RAW workflow runs past it. ## What ClutchCull is A web app that cuts blurry frames and duplicates, then ranks the sharpest keepers. Their site states it is 100% free with no sign-up, that full-res originals never leave your device, and that photos are optimised in the browser and uploaded in parallel. At the time of writing they report 1,502 photographers and 342,969 photos culled, with 675 new photographers in the previous 30 days. ## The thing it gets right Most culling tools measure sharpness across the whole frame, which fails on sports for a specific reason: a shot with a crisp crowd behind a motion-blurred athlete scores well and should not. ClutchCull's stated approach is to find the subject first — "locks onto the player so a sharp background behind a blurry athlete never wins." It also shows its working. Every keeper lists why it was picked: sharpness, subject, exposure.
